5/4/2015 0 Comments Lunch the Jews wayFrom Milan to Casale Monferrato (TO), the goose has been a traditionally popular food for the local Jewish Community for centuries. In fact, many people call it “the pork of the Jews” because like with pork in other cultures, with the goose nothing is left to waste when cooking it. Five years ago a group of friends decided to invest in getting back to the roots of traditional foods of great value, such as the goose of Lomellina (land near Milan), the cookies of Krumiri and kosher wines of Monferrato. And so, along with the Brotherhood of Rana and Salame d’Oca Sforzesca, they started “Lunch the Jews way”, organised every year in different village of our territory to bring food and culture back to people who had eaten “Jewish” for centuries without knowing its origins.
A very serendipitous things has happened: the fifth edition will take place in Sartirana Lomellina during EXPO, the 25th of October and will end with a guided visit to the Synagogue of Casale.
